Why should you go see Ponyo by Hayao Miyazaki, right now?
– Because it’s a feel-good movie such as My Neighbor Totoro.
– Because of the magic of Studio Ghibli.
– Because it’s 100% CGI free, hand drawn and the animation of the ocean is particularly well done.

Why should you go see Watchmen by Zack Snyder, right now?
– Because after many failed attempts, director Snyder has accomplished a faithful adaptation of the brilliant comic book (by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons).
– Because if you’re not into superheroes, it’s for you.
– Because the end is nigh and everything is a joke.
Runners up :The International by Tom Tykwer and Welcome by Philippe Lioret.
Top of the month February 2009: We are all going to die.
Why should you go see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by David Fincher, right now?
– Because surprisingly enough, even if the main plot is fantastic, everything seems strangely more realistic than Forest Gump (both films are written by Eric Roth and share a couple of similar narratives).
– Because of all the different Brad Pitt through time.
– Because you won’t look at a station clock in the same way anymore.
Runners up :Gran Torino by Clint Eastwood.

Why should you go see Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle, right now?
– Because of the entertaining ride in Mumbai, Jai Hoooooo.

Why should you go see Australia by Baz Luhrmann, right now?
– Because of the homage to the old good days of cinema (even if the film does have its share of cliches).
– Because of the landscape.
– Because it’s the most expensive health and safety clip with evidence of Botox injections gone wrong! O Nicole, wher art thou? :]

Why should you go see Two Lovers by James Gray, right now?
– Because after filming dark dramas, talented mister Gray strikes again with a well shot, well written dark romantic drama.
– Because for the interpretation of the three main actors, but Joaquin Phoenix stands out from the crowd.
